Canon imageWARETM Publishing Manager 2003 and Publishing Manager Professional Editions are client-based desktop publishing solutions that simplify the creation of business documents such as catalogs, manuals, brochures, direct marketing pieces, etc. Both versions enable users to combine multiple documents from various sources—Microsoft Office files, graphic applications, PDFs, or scanned documents and images—to form one single document. Users can apply a number of editing, page imposition, and finishing capabilities to their newly combined documents, create and format chapters, write annotations, and insert images and variable data from databases on the document for even greater personalization. Pages and chapters can be renumbered and stamped with watermarks or alphanumeric headers and footers for Bates Stamping. The ability to preview print jobs with finishing settings allows for quick visual proofing.

PaperToOffice Pro

PaperToOffice Pro converts paper documents to electronic format, which is an extremely useful tool that improves efficiency of work for any company. With this solution, users can scan a paper document at the imageRUNNER device and after the data is received into a specified folder on the desktop, the file is converted to the format selected at the front panel of the imageRUNNER.

The PC client automatically executes the OCR engine and converts the file to MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, text or PDF. Using this high-accuracy OCR engine, PaperToOffice Pro allows all levels of users from beginners to professionals to extract characters from the scanned paper documents. The OCR engine recognizes font size and color of these characters in the document automatically.

By using ADF (Automatic Document Feeder), multiple pages and double-sided pages can be scanned in a row. This allows users to create various kinds of electronic documents easier and faster, increasing productivity.

Sending the document to the PC can be operated right from the front panel of the imageRUNNER device by selecting a specific file format from a drop-down menu. PaperToOffice Pro also includes features such as specifying resolution, color depth, tone and single/double side scan. There is an address book as well, holding up to 100 addresses, in which the administrator can register, edit, or delete these addresses as necessary.

* "PaperToOffice Client" is software to convert image data scanned by the imageRUNNER to MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, and text, using an automatic OCR process.
